This massive geode disc displays an extremely rare and impressive mineral symbiosis. The front opens into a deep dark, deep purple to almost black bed of unique, botryoidal (cluster-shaped) amethyst crystals. This velvety, rippling crystal structure forms a spectacular frame for the absolute center of the disc. Precisely in the center sits a strikingly large, geometrically shaped red calcite crystal with a characteristic hexagonal crystal structure and a deep, earthy terracotta color. A sleek, polished blue-gray agate rim runs around the dark crystal cavity, perfectly accentuating the natural contours. The object weighs 1,510 grams (over 1.5 kg) and rests stably in the arms of a custom-made, black wrought-iron clamp stand, reaching a total height of 20 cm.
